Entry Welder

Description

Meyer Utility Structures in Steele, AL is seeking candidates for a welder trainee program. Candidates with some familiarity with welding are preferred, but any previous industrial or manufacturing experience will be taken into consideration. Candidates will train on 1st shift, but must be available to move to 2nd or 3rd shift once training is complete.

We were the first to use steel for tubular transmission poles and full-scale vertical testing, and the first to develop wood-equivalent steel poles. In addition to that, our engineering solutions for voltages up to 765kV are designed with our proprietary software and have been validated through years of comprehensive, full-scale structural testing.

What youll do:

Weld clips and hardware

Operate grinding equipment

May lay out and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies

May position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools

Observe all standard safety practices

Maintain and complete all required records

Follow all safety rules and practices

May be involved in safety committees or initiatives

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

What you'll need:

Minimum of 6 months experience or equivalent technical training/certification

Flux Core experience

Ability to maintain good attendance



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
